Bring your own Gemini API key and your browser calls Google directly — no Ondrift-operated server sits in between. Free-tier rewrites are relayed through Ondrift’s own lightweight proxy solely to call Gemini on your behalf, and are never logged.

Settings stay in chrome.storage.local. Optional history stays in your browser’s local IndexedDB.
Only prompts you explicitly ask to rewrite are ever sent — directly to Google with your own key, or through Ondrift’s proxy on the free tier. AI response content is never collected or stored.
Your AI provider API key, when you use one, stays under your control — and keeping it secure remains your responsibility.

Is Ondrift free to use?

Yes. Ondrift includes a free tier (10 rewrites a day, no setup), and unlimited use at no cost if you bring your own Gemini API key.

Does Ondrift send my prompts to a server?

Only on the free tier — there, the prompt you ask to rewrite passes through Ondrift’s own Cloudflare proxy solely to call Gemini on your behalf, and is never logged or stored. If you bring your own Gemini API key, your browser calls Google directly and no Ondrift server is involved.

Is my API key safe?

Your key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local and is only ever sent in direct calls to your AI provider. Keeping it secure remains your responsibility, the same as any API key.

Can I keep a history of my prompt rewrites?

Yes, optionally. History is stored locally in your browser’s IndexedDB only — never on a server — and you can clear it anytime from the Options page.
